Playing the game

How do I play Suika Game?

Move the waiting fruit left or right above the box and release it to drop it. When two identical fruits touch, they merge into the next bigger fruit. Keep merging and do not let the pile reach the top of the box. The how to play guide explains every rule.

How do I drop a fruit?

Press the mouse button or touch the screen over the box. The fruit moves to that horizontal position. Move the pointer or your finger to adjust it, then release to drop. The fruit falls when you let go, not when you press.

Which fruits can I drop?

Only the five smallest: cherry, strawberry, grapes, dekopon and persimmon. The first six drops of every game are always cherry, cherry, strawberry, grapes, grapes and dekopon. After that each of the five is equally likely.

What is the order of the fruits?

Cherry, strawberry, grapes, dekopon, persimmon, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, melon and watermelon. Two of the same fruit make the next one in this list. See the fruit guide for sizes and details.

Can I choose or swap the next fruit?

No. The next fruit is always chosen by the game. What you control is where it goes, and that is where all the strategy lies.

What happens when two watermelons touch?

In this browser version nothing: the watermelon is the end of the chain and two watermelons stay side by side. In the official Suika Game two watermelons that merge disappear from the box.

Why did the game end when nothing was near the top?

Fruits keep moving after they land. A merge creates a bigger fruit that pushes its neighbours, and a pile can rise for a moment after your drop. If any fruit crosses the top boundary, the game ends. Wait for the box to settle before your next drop.

Scores and saving

How are points calculated?

Each merge is worth as many points as the position of the merging fruits in the chain: 1 point for two cherries up to 10 points for two melons. Creating a watermelon also gives a 100-point bonus, and fruits left in the box add a few points when the game ends. The scoring guide has the full table.

Is my best score saved?

Yes. The game stores your best score in your browser on your own device, so it is still there the next time you visit in the same browser. You do not need an account.

Why did my best score disappear?

Usually because the browser data was cleared, because you played in a private or incognito window, or because you opened the site in a different browser or on another device. The record exists only in the browser where it was set.

Can I pause a game?

There is no pause button, but there is also no timer. The waiting fruit stays above the box until you drop it, so you can stop and think for as long as you like. Closing or reloading the page ends the current game.

Is a high score here the same as in the official game?

No. The official Suika Game by Aladdin X uses a different scoring system, so scores from the two versions cannot be compared directly.
